China's pump industry still has room for development

China's construction machinery industry has achieved remarkable success in the past decade, and China has become one of the largest countries in the construction machinery manufacturing industry. At the same time, China is also the world’s largest market for construction machinery sales.

So far, there are more than 2,000 pump manufacturers in China. All pumps produce approximately 450 series and more than 5,000 varieties. The basic pump can be designed and produced in China. In addition, through joint ventures and cooperation with foreign production methods, China's key pump technology level is close to the advanced level of similar foreign pump products.

Once again, the gear pump is still in the top position for pump products. Centrifugal pump buyers remain concerned about the momentum, still 23% of the attention, ranked second in the list of pump products. Plunger pumps and screw pumps are evenly matched by 18% of the attention and are firmly placed on the HC search charts. The diaphragm pump follows closely with 16% of the attention.

As the domestic policy of encouraging domestically produced new products is for the first time dictated by the government alone, it is expected that the high-end pumps that are urgently required for domestic development will be strongly promoted. Some new products, such as energy-saving and environmental-friendly electromagnetic heat pumps, will be promoted and applied under the guidance of the policy. The design level of the pump and the advanced manufacturing technology will be further improved in the large-scale pump manufacturing plant. The combination of the two technologies will bring a qualitative leap to the pump manufacturer. As mentioned earlier, the competition in the domestic pump industry has intensified, which has led to the gradual elimination of some of the smaller-scale pump manufacturers and companies whose technology cannot keep pace with the requirements.

"The domestic pump industry has not yet formed a real brand advantage." Luo Baihui, secretary-general of the International Mould, Hardware and Plastics Industry Suppliers Association, said that the development of the pump industry mainly depends on strong domestic demand. Due to strong domestic demand in the next few years, the domestic pump industry has room for development. But competition is fierce, including competition with foreign pump industry. Due to the gradual loss of the domestic pump industry’s comparative advantages and the deterioration of export conditions, the export of pumps is expected to be suppressed. It is expected that the products of the pumps will be diversified and the supporting capabilities will be further improved.

Before 2015, the domestic economy remained strong and the demand for pumps in all walks of life remained strong. Therefore, relying on domestic demand, China's pump industry still has room for development.
