WABCO to Supply Braking System for Mercedes-Benz Truck Platform in Brazil

Parts supplier Kaboko announced recently that it has expanded its joint venture with the Mercedes- Benz subsidiary in Brazil to supply brake systems for the latter.

WABCO recently signed a new long-term contract with Mercedes-Benz Brazil to provide braking systems for medium-sized and heavy-duty truck platforms produced by the latter. WABCO will fulfill this order through its plant in Sumaré, Brazil, and volume production is expected to start in the fourth quarter of next year.

Mercedes-Benz's plant in São Bernardo do Campo (São Bernardo Campo) is the company’s largest commercial vehicle production facility outside Germany. WABCO currently provides Mercedes-Benz with two factories in Brazil to provide air compression, braking, suspension and transmission automation technologies for trucks and buses.

Mercedes-Benz Brazil is a South American subsidiary of the Daimler Group and is the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in Latin America.
