To build a green chemical industry chain, put forward higher requirements for the disposal of "three wastes" in the park. According to Yin Guanyun, deputy director of the Development Division of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Nantong City, the part of the new chemical project used for environmental protection in the park generally accounts for more than 10% of the total investment, and the drainage outlets must be implemented in accordance with the national three-level takeover standard. The development zone introduced policies to encourage enterprises to use advanced environmental protection facilities to cure pollution. For example, Syngenta has invested US$6 million to purchase the most advanced thermal oxidation furnace in the world today to process wastewater from the production process. Due to the institutional guarantees in the development zone, enterprises can strictly control the pollution and basically do not hold the chance to secretly discharge the sewage. For example, the COD index, the takeover standard is 500 mg/l, but the company's outflow is generally 200 to 300 mg/l, which is much better than this standard. For solid wastes that are not used by the enterprises in the park, they are all recycled by the Qingyuan Industrial Waste Disposal Plant, and the sludge from the sewage treatment plant is digested to produce biogas for heat energy use. The remaining sludge is filtered. After treatment, it is provided to the thermal power plant as fuel, and the incinerated coal ash is used for brick making. These measures fundamentally eliminate solid waste pollution.
In order to promote the domestic enterprises in the park to reduce the gap between multinational companies' operating mode and energy saving and emission reduction as soon as possible, the Park Management Committee has carried out the “Lang-Lang Matching†initiative with all its capabilities.
