The “Ultraphotometric Absorber H2S Concentration On-line Measuring Instrument” and “UV-IS UV Spectrophotometry SO2 Concentration On-line Measuring Instrument” developed by Nanhua Research Institute have passed the technical appraisal organized by the Science and Technology Development Department of the Group.

î ‹î ‹ "Ultraviolet luminosity absorption H2S concentration online measuring instrument" solves the online measurement problem of hydrogen sulfide concentration in the acid gas of the furnace entering the Claus furnace in the Claus sulfur recovery unit. The meter is designed with a new pulse-powered circuit and a high-intensity UV source with an auxiliary cathode for a lifetime of more than three years. The high temperature measuring cell has been developed to avoid condensation of the sample gas. The single-cell, single-light path and no moving parts make the photometer simple in structure and reliable in operation. The three-year industrial test results of the online measuring instrument in Yangzi Petrochemical Aromatics Plant and olefins plant show that the analysis results are accurate, stable and easy to use, and can meet the requirements of on-line analysis of H2S concentration in production operations.

"UV-IS UV absorbance method for SO2 concentration online measuring instrument" has developed a high-intensity ultraviolet light source with a life span of up to two years. The instrument is controlled by electric heating program, with automatic balance, automatic zero return and fault diagnosis function, which realizes long-term stable operation. The instrument adopts single-cell and single-light path design, which has simple structure and convenient maintenance. Developed a three-stage dust sampling system suitable for coal-fired boiler installations with independent intellectual property rights, which solved the problem of dust and water removal in coal-fired boiler gas samples. The industrial test conducted by the measuring instrument in Yangzi Petrochemical Thermal Power Plant and Nanhua Power Plant shows that the analysis results are accurate, the operation is stable, and the use is convenient, which satisfies the requirements of on-line analysis of SO2 concentration in production operation.

Although this alloy exhibits excellent casting characteristics, it has seen limited use by die casters. It does however possess some interesting characteristics that may be of assistance to designers. Its creep performance is rated higher than the other zinc alloys and it maintains higher strength and hardness levels after long-term aging.
The behavior of zinc alloys under stress is non-linear and time-temperature dependent on strain-rate, i.e. the ratio of stress to strain is not constant, even at low stresses, and varies with time resulting in continuous plastic flow under constant applied load. Designers of structural components should be aware of the creep limitations of zinc alloys, which do not have a single value for elastic modulus or yield strength. Yield strength (allowable stress) under sustained loading is dependent on the allowable design strain (% elongation) over the required service life. Working values for the elastic modulus and yield strength are important for design purposes. Standard engineering formulae used for calculating cross-sections of elastic materials must therefore be used with some caution.
