Mitsubishi Heavy Industries promotes fuel efficient engines

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries demonstrated its S16R2-T2MPTAW engine at the 2012 SMM show in Hamburg, Germany. According to the International Ship Network, the model was designed and built in Japan and obtained the latest IMO II certification. The piston stroke is 22mm and the displacement is 79.9L. It is the longest stroke and maximum displacement machine delivered in this series. The stroke and speed are the same as those of Mitsubishi's long-selling S6R2, and use Mitsubishi's own original fuel injection pump and turbocharger.

This machine is suitable for tugs, offshore vessels and cargo ships.
